Love Ties Chapter 2 |
"Cye, he’s still not home. Something’s wrong. It has to be wrong." Cye placed a calming hand on the boy’s shoulder. "Maybe he realized the time, so he stayed at a hotel." "But he would have called! Sage wouldn’t do this to me!" Cye sighed, pulling the archer into a hug and rubbing his back tentatively. "Rowen, just wait until noon. If he’s not home by then, then we can go try to find him." Rowen nodded miserably as Ryo made his entrance. "Is Sage back yet?" He asked as he noticed the sulking archer and came to the conclusion that he was not. "Ok, we all know Sage well enough to say that he is captured? Or something happened at least, because this is not his behavior, right?" The other two nodded. "Well, I agree with Cye, we give him another day. Maybe some family issue came up, and he hasn’t had time to call. I say we just wait, and if nothing happens, then we go hunt him down. How does that sound?" Rowen nodded slowly as Cye continued holding him. Ryo nodded. "I’ll go get Kento and tell him everything. You two just stay here and hold on." Cye nodded. "Don’t worry, I’ll watch over him. You just go tell Kento." Ryo headed to the door, sparing one more parting glance as he left the room in search of the bearer of Hardrock. ***~~~***~~~*** Cale stretched in the chair that he had slept in, trying to get the kinks out of his necks and cramps out of his legs. He let his eyes wander to the figure on the bed, who was trembling uncontrollably. "Halo?" He asked in concern as he rose to his feet and briskly made his way to the bed. With concern, he sat down at the edge and reached out to touch the blonde. "Stop it..." Sage whimpered as Cale pulled his hand away and scooted closer. "Halo?" he asked again as he gently tugged the blanket away from Sage’s face. He felt horrible as he realized that the blonde was merely crying out on his nightmare plagued dreams. He placed his hand on Sage’s mid-section and gently shook the boy, who awakened with a start, jerking up, his eyes opening widely. "Cale?" He muttered as he pulled away, crying out at the abrupt movement, and lying back down. "Don’t move you silly boy! You will only aggravate your wounds even more!" Sage hung his head. "Why am I in your room? Is that why I hurt? And it’s so dark." Sage wrapped his arms around himself, shivering. His pale eyes were wide in cold and fear, goose bumps covering his bare flesh. Cale rose to his feet, flicking the light switch, before coming back to Sage. "Halo, I didn’t touch you. The others did." Sage thought for a moment, his blank eyes finally focusing. "You tell the truth. You held me instead of hurting me. Why?" Cale couldn’t help the flushing of his cheeks. He let his head hang for a moment, before looking up once more at the other boy. "I pitied you." He stated softly. He had to lie. He didn’t want to, but he had to. There was no way that he could tell This angel of light that he was madly in love with him. They were from opposite sides of the playing board. He was filled with Darkness, Corruption, and Hatred, while the other was filled with Hope, Bravery, and Wisdom. Never could they be more then enemies. Allies if things presented themselves in that manner. But never lovers. Especially with the fact that Sage’s heart already belonged to another. "Please, don’t lie." Sage stated softly, his young eyes locking with Cale’s, causing the warlord to melt away into their innocent depths. "I was not lying." Cale state firmly, as Sage hung his head submissively. He chose not to press the issue in a place where he was not welcome. He shivered, tightening his grasp on the cloth. He was in his greatest enemies own lair. The thought terrified him. But to his amazement, Cale didn’t seem as scary as usual. The man wasn’t taunting him, or hurting him. In fact, Cale was being rather kind, allowing him to have the bed, and not bringing any harm to him. "Cale, why aren’t you hurting me?" He finally asked out of curiosity. Cale said nothing as he rose to his feet. "Stay here and rest. I’m going to get some food." Sage nodded slightly as he watched the larger man walk rather gracefully out of the room. "What does he want with me?" Sage asked out loud, as the door slid open once more. "Cale?" He asked as the person came into view. A person very similar to Cale in only one aspect. The azure color of the silken hair. "Kayura?" Sage asked, his eyes widening in fear. "So, It seems to me that you have captured the heart of my fellow warrior. Poor Cale. He always was a sucker for emotions. Always will be his downfall, I must say." Kayura waltzed over to the bed and sat next to Sage, who slowly inched away. "Aww, are you scared of me after last nights affair?" Sage shook in fear, but said nothing. "Poor little golden one." She said as she stroked his fine mane of hair. "Little? This coming from the woman in the body of a twelve year old." Sage muttered, as Kayura cackled in laughter. "You do amuse me so, Halo!" Sage stayed quiet as her fingers lingered from his hair, and gently caressed his cheek. "Why, Halo, you feel rather hot. Are you liking my touch?" She teased as Sage sighed. "My head hurts." He muttered. "Poor baby." "I’m not your baby. Only Ro calls me baby." He whispered again. "Aww, how sweet. Do you miss him?" Sage nodded feebly. "Too bad you wont be seeing him again. You’ll be serving the rest of your life out as our pleasure. I think I’ll see how long it will take us to break you. You seem stubborn, and a good challenge. I set my money on two days." Sage looked away. "I will never break, lady." He stated, fire seeping through his voice like the normal Sage of the Halo. "Is that so? Do you care to let me find out?" Sage sighed. "Well, I really do care, seeing as in I want to stay in at least a ten mile radius of someone as insane as yourself, but seeing as I can’t have everything, I’m doubting that is going to happen." She smiled as she brought her lips to his. He immediately pulled away, glaring intently at her. "You do realize that I am going to fight you every step of the way, right?" She smiled, and snapped her fingers, as chains formed around his hands and feet, and a blindfold fitted itself perfectly to cover his line of vision. "This is not funny...." Sage warned, not liking that he could not see. He did not like being left in the darkness when it came to his eye site. He yelped as a feminine hand set on him, stroking where the only one he allowed was Rowen. "Don’t touch me!" He exclaimed, trying to kick at her, but being restrained by the chains. She laughed as she pulled herself up into the position to straddle his waist. "Why Halo, before it was so dark that I couldn’t see your body. But now I realize that for someone so young you are very well-built." She leaned down as she brought her lips to his once more. He was warm, which she like, being around the coldness of the warlords all the time. She was a woman, she at least needed the simple comforts of body warmth! And Cale wouldn’t let her near him, so she wasn’t able to tell if he was warm at all. "It’s a wonder that Cale turned the lights on. He never does." Sage shrugged, trying to shift the weight of the woman on top of him. "But I’m glad he did." She whispered into his ear, as he jerked in surprise. He didn’t know that she was so close. He felt her shift and wondered just what she was planning on doing to him now. It was then a mouth clamped down around his member, as he cried out in surprise. "Are you enjoying this Halo?" Sage whimpered. He really couldn’t think of anything better to do or say. His breath became shallow, as he tried not to let his body get the better of him. This was KAYURA! The trashy woman who dressed scantly and he hated. It was then the door opened. "Kayura! I do not need to see you do that! Ack!" Sage immediately recognized the voice as Cale’s, and for once he felt relief to hear the voice if the other man. "Ugh, Cale, ruin my fun." He felt the body slid off of him, and he quickly reached out to pull the blanket over him once more. "Well, bye-bye lover boy. I’ll be back for you later, you can count on it." Kayura stated as she kissed Sage’s lips once more, before leaving the room. "You ok Sage?" Cale stated as he removed the blindfold from the other boy. Sage shook his head slowly and silently. Cale sat next to him in concern. "Well, I have some food. But after that I don’t know if you could stomach it." Cale stated jokingly, but heeded no response from the younger boy. "You called me Sage," the blonde stated, glancing up at Cale, "You almost never call me Sage." Cale shrugged. "Slip of the tongue, I guess. Halo." Sage nodded faintly as he slowly reached out for one of the sandwiches. "May I?" He asked as Cale balked. "Of course! I brought them for you." Sage examined the sandwich before setting it back down. "Never mind." He murmured, to the confusion of the other occupant of the room. "Why aren’t you eating it?" Cale asked as Sage looked at the food in disgust. "I don’t eat meat." He stated simply, as he rested his head on the pillow once more and closed his eyes, still shaken up by what had happened moments earlier. "You mean to tell me that you are a vegetarian?" Sage nodded. "Animals were intended to be on this earth before we are. We live in their world, not vise versa. So if they don’t kill up for sport, why should we do the same to them?" Cale shrugged. "Interesting." Cale stated. "Well, I don’t think that I should leave you alone again, with Kayura on the prowl and all. Unless you want to come with me." Sage looked at him oddly. "You mean to tell me that I’m allowed to leave this area?" Cale shrugged. "Why not? Let me go find you some clothes." Sage watched with interest as Cale headed to a closet that Sage himself hadn’t noticed at first glance. Sage looked on in amusement as Cale pulled out a silk, navy blue shirt, and a pain of deep, black jeans, along with a belt. "Halo, you have to get up." He stated as he made his way back to the bed and its occupant. Sage struggled to sit up, welcoming Cale’s helping hand. After Cale stabilized the nude boy in a standing position, he grabbed the pants. "You can’t stand on your own, can you?" Sage shook his head slowly, his body leaning fully on the support of the blue-eyed man. Cale sighed as he helped Sage over to the wall. "Lean on it for support." He ordered, as Sage did as he was told. Cale knelt in front of to blonde, the pants in his grip. Taking one of Sage’s legs, he pulled the jeans up, then set it on the floor, grabbed the other, and did the same too. His breath caught in his throat as he pulled the pants up the rest of the way, his eyes lying on Sage where he knew he should not be looking. Hastily, he pulled them up the rest of the way and pulled the belt around the slim waist of the other boy. Sage was incredibly thin, especially for someone of his height. Cale was about 5 inches taller, and a lot heavier then the blonde. And a lot more built, he mused, though the blonde was not with lack of muscle. He swiftly un-did the buttons on the shirt as he pulled it around Sage, who had his eyes sealed shut. "Halo, You are not a two-year-old. The least you can do is give me your arms." Sage’s eyes slowly opened and obediently he did as he was told. After Cale managed to button Sage’s shirt, with little assistance from the blonde, they were finally ready to go eat. "Halo, think you can walk at all?" Sage stepped forward, obviously trying to say that he could, but instead his weak legs gave out on him as he fell weakly against Cale. "Guess not." He mumbled. Cale wrapped a strong arm around Sage’s waist to support him, as he headed to the door. "Cale, why don’t you just leave me here. It would be a lot easier." Cale rolled his eyes. "After all that trouble to get you dressed?" And control his hormones, "No way. You’re coming with me." "You’re very persistent." Sage murmured as Cale grinned. "And you should know. I fight you enough." Sage nodded, yawning weakly. Cale looked over in concern. "Now that I think about it, you look really flushed. Now, I know Kayura can do that too a man, but I don’t think it was her. When we get back, remind me to make sure you’re ok." Sage shrugged as Cale helped him out of the room and to the small cafeteria that the warlords ate at. "Thank God the other guys aren’t here. They’d tear into you like a piece of meat." "I know." Sage stated flatly as Cale winced at the venomous voice. Quickly, not wanting everyone to see Sage, Cale prepared cheese sandwiches. "Ok, we’re going to take these back." Sage nodded, sitting at the small table, his head hitting the wood, and trying to keep his rear from making too much contact with the painful wood. Cale stifled his laughter at the scene, as he walked back to Sage. He set the plate down, as Sage reached for one of the sandwiches. He took that as the perfect opportunity to hoist the startled Sage into his arms. "It will take too long for you to walk back, and I was practically carrying you before anyways." Sage nodded nervously, as he reached for the plate. "Come on, let’s get you back." Cale stated as he carried Sage, along with the food, back to his room. When they arrived, he set the boy and the trey on the bed, and watched Sage slowly nibble on the food. "Beautiful." Cale muttered, still eying the boy. Sage stopped in mid chew to look at the man in confusion. HE swallowed quickly. "What?" He asked as Cale blinked, blushing. "Nothing." "Ok, were you talking about me or the food?" Sage asked, a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "The food, definitely the food." Sage was about to speak again, as Cale walked over and set his hand on Sage’s forehead. "My god! You are burning alive!" Sage shrugged, and continued eating. "No, you better lie down and rest! You’re mortal, and we don’t have all those medicines here." "I thought that the warlord wanted me dead." Cale sighed. "I...Talpa doesn’t, and that’s what matters." Sage ignored Cale and continued eating, until he was shoved backwards into the pillow. "Wha-." Sage began as Cale covered his mouth. "I know you almighty Ronins aren’t supposed to get sick, but you are, and that means that you are to rest!" Sage finally nodded. "Never knew you cared Cale." "I care more then I let on." Cale stated, suddenly regretting what he said. "Kayura said that too." Sage muttered sleepily. "What?" Cale asked, but it was too late, the golden boy was already in the depths of sleep. Cale sighed. Why did his life have to become so complicated? Before it was just find the enemy, kill the enemy. And there had never been anything extremely special about any of the previous Ronins. But there must have been a fluke because every single one of these kids was terribly good-looking, especially the bearer of Halo. And through Strata was very nice to look at as well, there was something that lured you back to the blonde. The beautiful, exotic golden one. Cale sighed as he sat back down in his chair. He so very much wanted to curl up on the bed with the blonde, but he knew that would frighten the young one. He wondered exactly how old Sage really was. With a shrug to himself, he curled up and tried to fall asleep like the blonde. ~~~***~~~***~~~ Rowen was sleeping is Ryo’s bed. It was the only way to calm down the archer, and with the fact that Kento and Cye shared the bed for intimate reasons, Rowen knew he was not welcome. "Ryo, he’s hurt. Can’t you feel it?" Ryo shrugged. "Rowen, I’m not really trying. I’m too tired. It is one in the morning." Rowen sighed. "Sorry Ryo. I’m just, worried." "I know." Ryo stated, stifling a yawn. "Who knows what they’re doing to him." Rowen eyes him curiously. "Who are you talking about?" Ryo cursed to himself. Mia had located where he was using her computer to follow his yoroi. They were well aware that they dynasty had Sage but had been hesitant to tell that to Rowen, for fear that Rowen would go headlong into battle trying to save his lover. At the moment, until they found a way to get to the dynasty, Sage was stuck there, and there was nothing they could do about it. Ryo took a deep breath. He’d blown their cover, and now he had to tell Rowen. "Rowen, we know where Sage is." Rowen’s eyes went wide. "You do? Then why aren’t we saving him?" Ryo sighed, rubbing his temple with his fingers. "The dynasty has him, bud. We can’t get him until we find a way to get there." Rowen’s head hung. "So you mean to tell me that we are powerless to save my boyfriend right now?" Ryo could hear the increase in volume of the boy’s voice. "Mia is trying as hard as she can to find a way to get us to him, but she needs sleep too." Rowen took a deep breath. He had to think of Mia’s welfare as well. "I understand." He murmured. Ryo nodded. "Now go to sleep. I am very tired, and I will take all of my crankiness in the morning off on you." Rowen gave Ryo a faint smile. "Fine. But I wont like it." Ryo rolled his eyes as he and Rowen fell asleep on the bed. ~~~***~~~***~~~ Bringer of Darkness
