Love Ties Chapter 4 |
Sage slowly walked towards the kitchen, praying to any god that he could to protect him from the warlords. His thoughts drifted, and he found himself wondering exactly where Cale had gone off too. Was he doing something that was more important then Sage’s own health? Most likely. For some unknown reason, Sage kept forgetting that Cale was his enemy. Sage pushed aside his feelings for a moment, and instead forced himself to try to remember what happened the night before. He ached all over, and his head throbbed in malice. Carefully he opened the door, only to stumble and fall to the ground at the feet of the not to friendly warlords. "Umm... hi?" He stated nervously, as the warlords grinned down at him. "It seems that you’ve managed to screw your way into the beds of all of the dynasty warlords, so how many Ronins have you bed?" "Are you a horny little slut? Do you bed all the Ronins for a good screw?" "No... You know I was a virgin in the way that you took me!" He exclaimed, as the two men laughed. "Indeed you were. You have quite a tight ass on you. I still cannot believe that Strata never took advantage of your body. But you did him. And the others I presume. Is he tight too? As tight as you?" "Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I really don’t know how tight I am so I can’t exactly compare. And don’t ask about the others, Rowen was my first, dear warlords." Sage struggled to his feet, but instead fell to his knees. "But was he your only?" "Yes. Now may I get the water that I came for?" Dais laughed. "Do you wish to taste a liquid far better then any water?" Sage’s face turned green at the thought. "No thank you." /Leave him be you two. / Sekhmet and Dais groaned in unison as Cale’s psychic demand. /But Cale! / They exclaimed in unison. /No buts! You behave and leave him alone! He’s sick, and you shouldn’t take advantage of that! / Groaning, the two boys handed Sage a glass of water. "There. Now go back to Cale’s room and be a good boy." Nodding softly, Sage scampered away as fast as his dizziness and weakness would allow. Bursting into the room and collapsing onto the bed, dropping the glass and watching it shatter; Sage buried his head into his pillow, wishing helplessly that he were home. Home, where he didn’t have to worry about the fever that racked him, the beatings and rapes, if he was going to live or die, if he was going to be given to Talpa. There, all that mattered was if he was going to be summoned home, or if the dynasty was going to attack. And now that he thought about it, Sage had yet to see Cale’s presence in a long while, though he wasn’t sure that he could take it. The embarrassment of what he had said and done the night before was too much. But he was chilled, and feverish, and cold, and in dire need of a warm body to curl up against. No matter who it may be. Groaning in protest to the abuse that he had endured lately, Sage pulled the blanket up around his body and to his chin. Attempting meditation, he instead fell into the sullen depths of sleep. ***~~~***~~~*** "Dynasty! He’s at the dynasty and you guys didn’t tell me? Some friends you are!" Ryo sighed. "Rowen, We didn’t not tell you because we didn’t want you to know. We didn’t tell you because we care about you and don’t want you running headlong into a battle you cannot win by yourself! We know you’re worried about Sage, we all are, but still, we have to think this through. Think of a real plan before pulling some stupid stunt and getting ourselves caught as well." Slowly Rowen nodded. "I understand. I just, I’m so worried about him! What if they’re hurting him? I mean, taking away his armor and draining him of his life is bad enough, but what if they’re doing more then that?" Ryo wrapped his strong, lean arms around the waist of the other boy, pulling Rowen’s head to his chest. "Rowen, he’ll be fine. You have nothing to worry about, right guys?" Ryo turned to the other occupants of the room for support, as they all nodded in agreement. "Yeah Rowen. We all know that Sage is stronger then that." Cye stated as Mia and Kento nodded in agreement. Rowen slowly nodded as well, trying to stay strong as he thought about his lover. But Sage was there, he was here, and they couldn’t communicate over the realms. "I just... want him back." "We all do bud. And we’ll get him back. Somehow..." Rowen nodded as Ryo pushed him towards the bedroom. "Come on you, you look really tired. And upset. Let’s get you to bed." Rowen nodded as he let the fiery swordsman lead him to his room. Mia sighed the moment he left. "We have to get Sage back, we just have to. ***~~~***~~~*** "Sage?" Violet orbs widened at the use of his name, as he turned to the newest entrant. "Cale..." He muttered, as he began to cough. Cale winced. Sage was getting worse. He knew it, and he couldn’t help the blonde. Unless... "Sage, come on." "Huh...?" the drowsy voice asked as Cale sighed. This was going to be a bit more difficult then he had thought it would be. "I’m getting you out Halo..." He growled into Sage’s ear, as the blonde gasped. "You... you are?" Cale nodded rapidly, as Sage feebly tried to rise. Cale shook his head. "Save your strength." He murmured, as he wrapped the blanket around the blonde, and pulled the trembling figure into his arms. "Why are you saving me? Why are you going against all orders?" Sage asked softly, but Cale neglected to respond. Sage sighed softly, turning his face away. It was embarrassing to be held by Cale after the previous nights... events. "’M sorry about last night Cale." Sage murmured, his eyes falling away from the intense look of his once love. "I... I don’t know what came over me." Cale sighed. "Drugs. It’s not your fault. Not at all. And never think that it is." Sage nodded softly as he felt himself being carried. "Where’re we going?" Sage asked again, his mind lost in a jumbled mess. Cale sighed. "I just told you. I’m taking you home." Sage’s eyes widened, as he grew silent. "Thank you." He finally stated as Cale smiled softly. "Any time." Cale muttered as he allowed himself to disappear from site, and reappear in the middle of the Ronin’s mansion, to the shock of the surprised duo of Ronins, each of them grabbing for their armor sphere. Cale shook his head, as he walked over to Cye. "Save your breath Ronins. I’m just here to give him back." Gently Cye set down his armour, as Cale placed Sage in his arms. "He’s very sick and has been through... a lot more then any of you innocents could ever imagine. Take good care of him, and make sure he gets better." Cale stated as Kento muttered under his breath. "This has to be a trap." Cale laughed. "No Hardrock, it’s nothing like that." Cale stated as Kento shook his head. "I still don’t believe you." Cale sighed. "Believe what you want, but none of this had to do about you, Strata, or anyone else in your rag-tag group. I just want to see him well again, and if you must know, I’m going to have the shit beaten out of me for this by Master Talpa. Now, good day." Cale stated as he disappeared from site. Kento cursed out loud as Cye shook his head. "Cye?" A soft voice asked as Sage looked up at the boy with wide violet eyes. It was then that the door to Ryo’s room jerked open as Rowen glanced out. "Sage?" He asked in shock. He had come the moment he had heard that weak voice mutter Cye’s name. "Oh my God! You’re all right, you’re all right. Oh god you’re alright." Rowen repeated over and over again as he ran over to the blonde, pulling the weak blonde into his arms. And then he stopped. "Sage, what happened to you?" He asked in concern as the blonde turned away. Rowen looked on in confusion as he noticed several marks across the blonde’s barely covered body. Letting to blanket fall to reveal Sage in only boxers, Rowen gasped. There were numerous marks covering the blonde’s ivory skin, and his normally pale skin was now flushed, his blonde locks matted to his forehead. "Oh my gosh love, what happened?" Sage moaned, as Cye took his cue. "Rowen, mate, we have to get him to the hospital. Cale told us to. He said that Sage’s been through a lot, and he needs help. And he doesn’t look to hot, so I think it’d be best if we took him immediately to the hospital." Rowen nodded, as he turned to where Ryo stood behind him. "Hold Sage." He stated as he placed the blonde in their leaders arms, and headed off to his room. He returned a few moments later, himself now fully dressed, and a large button-up shirt in his hand. Walking over to Ryo, who held Sage, Rowen dressed the blonde, before grabbing the blanket and wrapping it around his lover. "Come on, he’s shivering and it’s really hot in here. We better get going." The others nodded as Ryo rushed into his room, changed, and was back in less then a minute, hopping on one foot as he tried to get his second shoe on. "Come on guys, let’s go." Sage moaned in Rowen’s arms as they walked over to the car. Carefully, Rowen climbed in, placing Sage on his lap as he slowly ran his fingers through the blonde tresses. It was only a few minutes before they arrived at the hospital, Mia having been driving just a smidge over the speed limit. Somewhere in the range of 20 miles per hour over the limit, but she hadn’t gotten caught, and no one was complaining. Immediately Rowen rushed into the building, Sage still in his arms. "Umm, my friends kinda dying. And it’s an emergency. So can I have some assistance?" He asked as the lady handed him a form. "Ok lady, I apparently can’t pick the thing up seeing as my friend is dying in my arms!" She rolled her eyes. "If the patient can walk into the building, then they can fill out the form." Rowen’s temper took a turn for the worse. "What the fucking hell is wrong with you lady? I CARRIED him in; he did not get up and walk in! Why, because he’s sick! And hurt? And you don’t seem to give a flying fuck that his life is in your hands, now do you?" "Rowen, calm down. I’ll do the paperwork..." Ryo stated, as he reached around and took the clipboard. "Why don’t you just take Sage to the back?" Rowen nodded as he stormed away from the woman. "Bitch..."He muttered as he pulled Sage closer to his chest. It was then that Cye walked over, a man in a crisp white lab coat in tow. "This is Dr. Morrison, and he’s going to take care of Sage, alright Ro?" Rowen nodded softly as he followed the doctor out of the room, and into another, smaller one. "Just set Mr. Date down there." The doctor stated as Rowen obeyed, placing the blonde on the table. And then he waited. ***~~~***~~~*** "What ails you my friend?" Cale glanced up from his bed, where he was currently sitting, knees pulled up to his chest in a rather fetal position. He sighed. "Well, let me think. I just had the shit beaten out of me by the Nether spirits, you all raped my counterpart who I was actually starting to like having around, oh, and he’s in love with another man. One last thing, I’m not your friend." "Aww... that’s too bad. I feel so unloved now." "Go to hell Dais." Cale muttered as the illusionist smiled. "Well, if you’d like, I could put on an illusion, whimper like a beaten puppy, and play Halo’s role as the one that begs for pity." "You’re a bastard, you know that right?" The snowy haired man laughed. "Yes, I do. But you’re too beat up to complain about it or hurt me in any way possible." "I hate you." "I know." Dais stated as he sat on the edge of the bed. "Oh come on, even after that torture you still feel for the boy? What a sorry sap you are. All in love with the enemy. Have you been reading romance novels again?" "No. I don’t read unless it’s fine literature." "Well, I bet you’ve read West Side Story then. Kind of similar, don’t you agree?" "Dais, for the last time, go away and leave me alone." "Well if you’re going to be a bitch about it, why don’t I just go to the hospital and bring back Halo?" Cale’s eyes widened as he jerked his head to face Dais. "No! He’s sick, he has to be there or he’ll die." "Can’t take the thought of losing your light, now could you?" Cale sighed and turned away. "He’s important, Ok? We’re the only two on opposite sides of the playing board that are compliments of each other. I mean, poison and water? Illusions and Rock? But then there’s Darkness and Light. Neither complete without the other. That’s how I feel. I’m not completes without my other half. Now if only that damned ancient could have made both our armors good... But I guess Darkness will always be portrayed as the evil." Dais sat for a moment, thinking, before laughing. "Wouldn’t that be interesting? If the light had been the bad, and the dark good? Heh, I wouldn’t have minded having Halo on the team. A nice piece of ass to.... Nevermind. If I complete the sentence, you kill me." Cale nodded politely. "Actually, I’d cut off your testicles and shove them down your throat if you did." Dais’s eyes widened. "Wouldn’t that be harsh?" "Seems fitting to me." Dais sighed. "Oh, come on Cale. You know you can’t be with the boy. He’s with Strata anyways. So give up and join us in the "I’ve screwed Kayura" club. I’m sure she’s willing." "I’m already a member." Dais’s eyes widened in shock. "What?" He demanded as Cale sighed. "A night of "passion" in exchange for Sage not being turned in to Talpa. It was either Sage or I. I chose the latter. He would have died from all the bodily straining. He’s dying right now. I can’t tell. I only hope humans are advanced enough to save him. Well, they better be." Dais nodded. "They should be. But who knows when we’ll capture him again. Wait, that would be a good thing to you, wouldn’t it?" Cale shook his head. "I want him happy. If that means being with Strata, so be it." "But what if that means being with you? What if he’s fallen in love with the enemy as well?" Cale chuckled softly. "You think too much. He wouldn’t love me. I mean, why would he? I’m older then dirt, literally, I have this horrendous scar marring my face, and I’m the enemy. He’s, he’s... everything I wish myself to be." Dais shook his head. "Dang. Boyfriend’s got it bad!" Cale laughed softly. He may have been very mad at the boy right now, but he was good company. And unlike Kayura, never blackmailed you with your personal life. "I suppose I do. Well, you better get going. It’s late." "I’m immortal, I don’t get tired." "I know. But even as immortals, we feel pain. I hurt, henceforth I wish to rest." Dais nodded. "Goodnight Cale." "Goodnight one eye." "Scar face..." Dais muttered as Cale sighed. "Not now. And you know I could beat you in insults." "Such as...?" "Old man." "Hey, I’m the same age as you." "Yes, but the difference is that you look it." "I do not!" "Sure you do. Look at your hair. Dais laughed slightly. "Guess so. Well, night." "Night." And then the boy left the room, leaving Cale to his own personal thoughts. ***~~~***~~~*** It had been two weeks since he’d left the hospital, to be under constant supervision. The doctors had never seen a worse patient before, and were amazed at his recovery. Two weeks. And he missed him. Oh god he missed him. His kindness, his rare smile, his concern. It wasn’t that he didn’t get that here, but for some reason, it wasn’t the same. Sage missed Cale. It was that simple. Even Rowen couldn’t fill the void in his heart. Sage sighed, curling into an even tighter ball then he was in before. He missed Cale. His darkness.... forever lost.
