The Healer of Death

Chapter 1

"Eriac, please tell me that you aren’t going! I don’t want you to go! Men die! Men that are young and innocent like you lose their lives for no reason!" The mossy brown haired boy shushed his lover with a soft kiss planted on rosy lips.

"That wont work! No amount of kissing and touching and caresses will make me willingly let you go!"

"Brother, what’s going on?" Seiji turned to look at the tiny girl nestled snuggly in his arms. He cursed silently. Eriac smiled as he walked over to his lover and took the girl from the younger boy’s arms.

"Well honey, I’m going to go fight in a big battle! It’ll be in a big arena, and men from all around the world will be there! Tis’ a grand place to be!" The little girl stared at him in confusion.

"What’s a battle?" She asked in confusion as Seiji carefully took her back into his arms, giving the other boy a glare.

"A battle is a place of pain and death." Her tiny brown eyes widened in horror.

"Mommy and daddy are dead...." She stated softly as Seiji nodded. What she spoke was true; he just had never realized that she knew they were dead. At such a young age, he didn’t think it was possible for a child to comprehend what the word death meant.

"I don’t want brother Eriac to die..." She whimpered, clinging to Seiji as tears formed in her eyes.

"Please, Satsuki, don’t cry." Eriac begged as he walked over to the pair of brother and sister.

"Sweetie, do not worry. I shall return by days end tomorrow, victory in my grasp and honor in my hand." Satsuki said nothing, but her sobbing ceased.

"Seiji, may I speak with you alone?" Seiji gave the boy an untrusting glance, but complied, carefully setting his sister on the ground.

"Satsuki, why don’t you go play with Jun, or go over to Uncle Shin’s?" The girl nodded, wiping her eyes with the hem of her dress as she ran out the door.

"Seiji, why did you do that? She’s only four, she has no reason to know about battle." Seiji shrugged.

"Her parent’s were killed in one, she has every reason." Eriac sighed.

"I know that you hate battle. Not only are you a sage, but your parents also met their fate in one. But I swear to you that the same will not happen to me. I’ll be careful."

"Careful? How is it bloody possible to be careful when you are in a battle with over 3000 men, all out for blood and the prize of a fair maiden! What is it that you have to offer, love? If you are captured, and they find no use of you, then what will they do? If you don’t have anything, which we do not, they will destroy you!" Eriac laughed at the idea, bringing his lips to the smaller boy’s.

"Love, do not worry your pretty little head on me! You have received no bad omen as you are notorious for, correct?" Seiji nodded slightly. He was well known as a prophet in the town, thought he chose to keep that fact away from the nobles that would abuse it.

"Then my faith has risen!" Eriac wrapped his arms around the slender waist of his lover.

"Should I come back victorious, which I shall, I swear to you a better house and life then this poverty we live in right now!" Seiji hung his head. They weren’t that bad off. He had his small gold income from the people he healed, and Eriac received a low wage for his military service.

"Eriac, love, I may not have had a dream for seeing any danger, but I have a horrid feeling about this!" The boy laughed, brushing off the boy’s comment.

"So, love, what is for dinner tonight? I expect a feast when I come back from battle, and alive and energetic as ever!" Seiji couldn’t help but smile. This was his Eriac. Certainly god would not curse him with the death of his lover, for the lord was not cruel enough to do such a thing.

"We were invited to Shin’s, remember?" Eriac grinned contently.

"Oh how I did forget! Well, shall we be off then?" Seiji shrugged. He wasn’t in the mood for the constant cheer of his best friend. He loved Shin with all his heart, but the man was too happy and easily excited for his own well-being. Which, coincidentially, was how Shin had come to except Eriac. Shin was very picky on who was worthy of his best friend and favorite niece. Eriac’s constant cheer and good-intentions finally wore down the boy, as he gave the relationship his approval.

"You go ahead. I think I’d rather stay here for a bit longer." Seiji murmured to the confusion of his lover. Clear blue eyes watched Seiji’s form, as he walked over to the kitchen area, scrubbing at the dirty dishes with a piece of cloth.

" Seiji?" The blonde ignored the calling of his name, and continued calling, his head hung, hair falling over it to cover the violet orbs.

"Love?" Again, Seiji didn’t reply, so finally the other boy made it his priority to see what was ailing his golden lover. Carefully he made his way over to the form kneeling over the dishes, as he got on his knees as well. Seiji was much smaller in size then himself, the blonde being at least 5 inches shorter then he was. Plus, his form was covered in muscles, while his lover was thin and lean. Not to weak, but not overly covered in muscle. Carefully, he set his index finger under the chin of his lover, and gently lifted the face of the boy. To his shock, tears were pouring down the normally pale cheeks. Seiji’s skin was flushed, to the shock of the other man. Eriac was older then Seiji, by three years, but that truly didn’t matter. That was actually the smallest age difference in the town, to be exact. Quickly, Eriac pulled the younger and more vulnerable boy into his arms, softly whispering calming words, trying to sooth the saddened boy. Softly, he ran kisses along the boys neck, until finally the cries and moans from the boy turned into ones filled with pleasure.

"Ummm.... Eriac..." Seiji whimpered as Eriac nibbled gently on his earlobe.

"Ummm.... Uncle Eriac. Can you get off of brother?" Eriac looked up, a blush creeping up his face as he let go of Seiji and turned to the little girl. She wasn’t naïve. She had seen them together more then once, on accident of course. Seiji, equally embarrassed, sat up and smoothed out his shirt. Putting on a fake smile, he rose and picked her up.

"Sorry about that sweetie." He stated. The little girl merely shrugged as an auburn haired man walked into the home, refraining from knocking, and grinning widely.

"Well, looks like you two were caught red handed." Shin stated with laughter as walked over.

"Do you need me to give you two a little more time? Get rid of some of those urges?" Seiji glared as Shin laughed once more.

"I was just joking, friend. Come on, food is ready. And I have another guest. He has come to visit from far away. He is staying for the tournament, to observe the participants. He was sent by the king to find the best men to recruit into the army." Seiji watched as Eriac’s eyes lit up.

"Brother, Mr. Touma said that I could call him uncle Touma! Isn’t that the best?" Seiji laughed. He’d have to meet this man, thank him for being so kind to his little sister as well.

"Well, come on Eriac. Let us go see how Shuu is doing, and visit this man that Satsuki speaks so highly of." The brunette nodded in agreement as he followed the younger blonde out of the house.

*~*~*~*

Eriac sighed, nuzzling his lover who slept soundly. Worried about this? He was terrified. Would he live? Would he come home to once again see Seiji and Satsuki? Hold his lover in his arms once more, like he did at this very moment? Seiji shifted slightly, murmuring a few words before silencing against Eriac’s chest. Eriac sighed, ruffling the soft blonde tresses of his lover. Shifting slightly, Eriac, turned to stare at the ceiling.

"Love?" A silent voice added, as Seiji yawned sleepily, violet eyes watching Eriac.

"What’s wrong?" Eriac tightened his grip on the blonde’s slender waist.

"Nothing, just, thinking." Seiji nodded, nestling up to the older boy. Though sometimes it bothered Eriac, age didn’t seem to bother the much younger boy.

"’Bout the tournament, I presume." Eriac merely nodded.

"You don’t have to go. You can stay here, in bed, with me. It’s much more comfortable, and a lot less bloody and gruesome." Eriac laughed softly.

"You know that’s not true. You can be just as gruesome." Seiji laughed.

"Look who’s talking." Eriac laughed. His lover had a valid point.

"Well, love, you really should get to rest. You have a big day tomorrow."

"I thought you did not wish for me to go?" Seiji smiled.

"I do not. But not that I can stop you. You have a free spirit and a wild mind. For which I know first hand." Eriac grinned at the statement. He knew he could get a little odd while in bed.

"And with that knowledge, I know that stopping you is out of the question. I just wish and pray for your safety." Eriac smiled.

"Thank you love." Seiji nodded slightly, letting himself sink into the depths of dreams, body still tightly in the arms of his one and only.

*~*~*~*

Seiji slept soundly on the couch, little Satsuki, equally asleep, lying on his stomach. The calm though, was broken abruptly by loud noises outside the door, and fierce banging on the door. With wide, frightened eyes, Seiji turned to the tiny girl that had also awakened.

"Satsuki, I want you to run! Go to uncle Shin’s house, now! The tiny girl nodded, and ran to the back door, the moment the front door was broken down, shards of wood flying everywhere. The tiny girl gave a back glance at the men that had just entered her home, and squealed in glee as she noticed Eriac.

"Brother!" She made her way back, but was stopped by her brother’s glare.

"Satsuki, go, NOW!" frightened, the girl finally listened and ran out the door. Seiji turned back to Eriac.

"What is going on?" Seiji finally asked, his voice shaking. It was then that he noticed Eriac had a deep gash covering his front, running from his shoulder to his abdomen.

"Eriac! You’re hurt!" Ignoring the other men that surrounded his lover, he ran up to Eriac. Using his strength, he pulled his lover from the grip of the two men, and laid him down on the couch. Carefully he pealed the blood stained shirt from the rather muscular form, wincing at the damage.

"I knew you shouldn’t have gone. I told you you’d get hurt love." Seiji scolded, scampering over to fetch some water. Carefully he ripped the hem off of his own shirt and drenched it in water. Slowly he cleansed Eriac’s wounds, ignoring the many sets of eyes that watched his every move.

"Just relax, I’m going to heal you." Seiji reached down to press his hands to Eriac’s chest, but a hand caught his wrist.

"Love, don’t show them your powers! I don’t want them to get any ideas! They have come for what they wish, for I have lost. If they were to realize what you can do, they could take you! I can’t lose you!" Seiji ignored the boy’s pleas and allowed himself to heal his lover. The men watched on in shock as Eriac’s wound began to shrink, the blood stopping and the wound disappearing from site. Seiji smiled as he fell weakly to his knees, still at his lover’s side.

"Did you see what that boy just did?" One man finally spoke, as Eriac grimaced. He knew this would happen. Why was his lover so foolish as to not listen to him?

"If we had a person with the power to heal wounds, think of what we could do in battle?" Seiji slowly scooted away from the men and closer to Eriac, who reached out his hand and ran it through the boy’s hair. Seiji sighed in content.

"Boss would want that boy. There seems to be nothing of any more value here then this boy himself." Seiji gasped, rising to his feet and trying to make for the door. His struggle was to no avail though, as he was quickly grabbed by two men with far more energy then the tired blonde. Eriac watched as they dragged the blonde to the door. Seiji tried to resist, but any resistance was futile. Eriac rose wobbly to his feet, as he tried to get to the boy.

"What are you going to do to him? Leave him be!" One of the men rolled his eyes as he turned to the brunette.

"We have no use for you." He stated, as he pulled a sword from his back. Eriac gasped as the blade slid cleanly into his mid-section.

"ERIAC!!!!" Seiji cried out in anguish as he tried to pull away from his captors.

"Let me go! I have to heal him! He’ll die! Please!" The men ignored the boy who began to sob as he tried to break free and get to his lover.

"Stop fighting boy!" Seiji refused to as he tried to pull away once more.

"Oh screw this. The boy is hyperventilation, and is also distressed." The man speaking raised a metal staff.

"If we’re going to take him, let’s at least make it easier." Seiji glanced up through tear filled eyes just in time to watched staff come straight for him. And then he was out cold.
