Crazy For You

[Ok, here’s my second attempt at a songfic... or something like that. This is proof
that time at work, if well spent, can be productive! At least if you call
daydreaming while changing clothing sensors productive, anyway. Standard
disclaimer, the Ronin boys aren’t mine, but I can wish, can’t I? Enjoy! ~Dark
Eos~]
Swayin’ room as the music starts
{A small, smoke filled club sets the scene for Ryo’s current drink; the slender boy
perched up on a stool, back to the crush of bodies and lights behind him. A new song
drifted into his ears, and out of the corner of his topaz blue eyes he caught even more
couples abandoning their spots at the wall as they rushed the dance floor. Ryo, however,
remained seated, stirring his barely touched drink half-heartedly with a plastic straw.}
Strangers making the most of the dark
{His eyes scanned the crowd for a familiar face, but as those crystal blue spheres graced
over the crowd he found nothing but strangers. The mass of bodies pressed closer
together, some almost indecently, and as his eyes followed the now almost bare wall he
spotted Sage’s blonde hair standing out starkly. More notably, he noticed the large, rare
smile on his friend’s lips. The swordsman handed a drink to Mia, and the two laughed
together, both pretending to watch the crowd but really watching each other.}
Two by two their bodies become one
{Ryo’s lithe body turned back around, his eyes following the flash of blue that had caught
his attention, to have it focus in on Rowen dragging Kento out onto the crowded floor.
Kento put up mock resistance, but the same smile Sage had was plastered across his lips.
That smile made Ryo’s heart twinge a little, an ache made more pronounced as the taller
boy pulled Hardrock in closer, and planted a soft, secret kiss on the nape of the other
boy’s neck. The pair seemed to melt into one another; Ryo couldn’t have told where
Rowen stopped and Kento began even if he tried. Morosely, he turned his attention back
to his drink, resigning himself to stabbing ice cubes for the rest of the evening as the others
enjoyed their romantic excursions.}
I see you through the smoky air
{As he lowered his stare back to the top of the bar, the only sight he thought he’d be
seeing for the rest of the night, he caught sight of Sai’s red haired form. The other boy
was closer than he had expected, sitting nearly right across from him and looking just as
miserable, a small pile of shredded napkin slowly gathering near one hand, a glass full of ice
near his other. Sai started in on another napkin with a sigh that Ryo heard, or maybe just
felt, above the considerable volume of the music. His features were slightly obscured by the
heavy haze of the club air, but it didn’t take the edge off the fine beauty the redhead
possessed. Cursing himself mentally, Ryo tried to pull his eyes off the other boy before he
noticed his staring, but he found them pleasantly stuck.}
Can’t you feel the weight of my stare
{Wondering why the intensity of his gaze didn’t set Sai’s pile of napkins on fire, Ryo’s
blue eyes continued to take in the sight of Torrent. He had dressed simply that night, just a
black T-shirt and a pair of light denim jeans, but both seemed to hug every available
surface of the redhead’s lean body. Maybe Sai bought his clothes two sizes too small to
get them to fit like that; Ryo didn’t know, but he certainly wasn’t going to complain.
Sai’s hair shone softly in the low light; the black haired boy found himself wondering if it
would be just as soft as the shadows it placed around Sai’s normally cheerful green eyes.
With a sigh of his own Ryo tore his eyes away from his friend and placed them back on his
drink. Thoughts like that only lead to trouble, and he was lonely enough as it was, he
didn’t need to be making it any worse for himself by pining any more over Sai.}
You’re so close but still a world away
{He cast one last glance up at Sai, but the boy had changed positions. The only thing that
Ryo could see now was the short spill of hair over the neck of his shirt and the rest of
Sai’s black covered back. For a minute the black haired boy entertained the idea of going
over and talking to his friend, but quickly caught himself. All of a sudden, the distance
between them seemed more like a galaxy than the mere span of the bar. What would he
say to Sai, anyway? Excuse me, but I’ve got a crush on you like an elementary-age
school girl and I’d really like it if you’d be patient with me while I drool over you? It
would be appropriate, it seemed to be the only thing he could do regarding the red haired
boy lately. Sai was completely out of his league, by standards of maturity alone. Ryo
didn’t even want to think about how he’d compare to anything else. He couldn’t even
manage to get a handle on his feelings, let alone captivate the feelings of another. Still, it
didn’t stop him from daydreaming about Torrent, no matter how hard he tried not to.}
What I’m dying to say
Is that I’m crazy for you
{He didn’t know quite how the change happened; it took him totally by surprise when he
realized that his thoughts for Sai had turned into more than just fond friendship. Half of him
wasn’t even sure if these feelings had grown inside him simply because he was lonely and
he wanted someone to fill that void, or if he really did like Sai as more than a friend. What
he was sure of, though, was regardless the reason why, it wasn’t something the other boy
was likely to return. Sai was completely out of his league. He was too steady for the likes
of Ryo, who was just as temperamental and fluctuating as his trademark element. Still, the
dreams, both at night and during the day never ceased. It was as if his very brain was
revolting against him, making him able to focus on nothing other than the sweet English boy.
Ryo shook his black tressed head and careless of who saw him, wrapped both arms
around himself and closed his eyes.}
Touch me once and you know it’s true
{As always, goosebumps followed in the wake of those thoughts, rising on his arms and
sending small shivers trailing down his spine like fine white fingertips... Ryo shook himself
out of the trance he was putting himself into. His friends already thought he was strange
enough, he didn’t need to be zoning out in crowded rooms. Such antics were reserved for
Rowen, the resident airhead. But Rowen was cute, and could get away with it. But Ryo?
Well, he knew it would be far too out of character for himself, and that would mean
attention. And the last thing he wanted was for anyone to be paying extra attention to him.
It was hard enough to hide the way he felt for Sai from the others without them being nosy!
The only extra attention he wanted was Sai’s trim, muscled body against his, he thought
with yet another sigh. Unfortunately, it didn’t look like that was in the future. Even though
he could get that thought through his head, it didn’t stop the lonely ache in his chest from
screaming for Sai.}
I’ve never wanted anyone like this
It’s all brand new
{The intensity of this newfound emotion startled him. The last and only thing he had ever
wanted this much was the end of Talpa’s reign, and that had the entire world resting on it.
This had considerably less consequence, but the fierce desire in his heart demanded no less
attention than the fate of the world. Oh, if only he had ever had a crush on anyone before!
At least then he’d have something to compare this to, instead of fumbling around in the
dark with these strange, unfamiliar emotions. He wished for something, anything that would
help him identify the rush of new feelings that constantly bombarded him. Ryo didn’t think
that he could have described any of them if his life depended on it. His breath froze in his
throat for a split second as the redhead turned around from his crowd-watching position
and fastened his lips onto the edge of his now melted-ice filled glass. He hadn’t needed
to, though, because just as he expected, those green eyes passed right over him without
even stopping once.}
You’ll feel it in my kiss
I’m crazy for you
{One dark fingered hand hastily picked up his almost ignored drink and pressed the still
cool rim of it to his own mouth. Nothing better than a little change in temperature to wash
away the traces of the imaginary kiss that Ryo had conjured for himself. But even though it
was the glass, not Ryo, that Sai was embracing, it didn’t stop the spreading warm feeling
that crept through the black haired boy’s stomach like someone had dumped a shot or
two of brandy down his throat. If only Sai would kiss him! He was sure that even despite
the fact he had never kissed before, he could convince Sai with just that one little action
that they belonged together.
Quickly, he set his glass down before he forgot he was holding it and dropped the damn
thing. Such lack of focus was completely out of character for him, but Ryo really didn’t
care as long as he got to entertain fleeting images of Sai pressed up warm against his lips.
That unfamiliar warm feeling flooded his gut again, followed by what felt like nervous
flutters but infinitely more pleasing. If the imagined kiss felt that good, he wasn’t too sure
he could handle the real thing!}
Tryin’ hard to control my heart
{Suddenly, he felt the gentle, invisible pressure of a pair of eyes on him. As he looked up
from overly long dark bangs, his blue eyes met the stare of a pair of green ones, right
across from him. Sai had spotted him. Torrent smiled at him in his typical gentle manner,
and Ryo had to force his heart back down out of his throat and into his chest as the other
warrior waved one slender hand at him. The wave soon turned into a gesture for Ryo to
come sit near him, and the pleasant warm feeling that had spread through the black haired
boy turned into lumps of ice.
Trying not to show just how rubbery his knees had gotten, Wildfire straightened, shoved
the stool out of the way, and rounded the edge of the bar towards his friend. If he was
lucky, Sai would hear just how hard his heart was beating when he took his new seat at the
stool next to him. However, if it was beating just as hard as Ryo thought it was, the
redhead could probably already hear it thudding hopelessly against his ribcage as if it meant
to break loose and run away.}
I walk over to where you are
{If it took as long as he thought it did to cross the space to Sai’s seat, Ryo was surprised
that the other boy didn’t die of boredom waiting for him to obey his summons. Of course,
as short as the walk was, he still had to shove past, between, and all sorts of other
maneuvers to get around thirsty couples pushing their way over to the bar for drinks. A few
times he lost sight of Sai, and worried that the other boy had gotten sick of waiting and
gone elsewhere.
Such was not the case, for as Ryo finally emerged from the mass of bodies, the redhead
was sitting there patiently, the same soft, pleasant smile on his lips. Torrent shouted a
greeting to him over the blaring music, but it was swallowed up as soon as it left the boy’s
mouth. Ryo just tapped one finger to his ear and shrugged, hoping that Sai would
understand. He did, smiling at him again and nodding, a now thoughtful look in his green
eyes as he stared at the blue eyed boy in front of him. Quickly racking his brain for
possible interpretations of that look, Ryo came up with none. It still left him pleasingly
warmed on the inside to be on the receiving end of such a look from his crush, though,
even if it did start his heart into that strange fluttering all over again.}
Eye to eye we need no words at all
{Sai continued to give him that thoughtful look, and then without warning took the dark
boy’s hand in his own. Slightly tugging at the other boy, he began to lead Ryo out onto the
dance floor before it even registered in his mind what exactly was going on. Sai wanted to
dance? He could hardly stand as it was, with his heart pounding so hard, let alone make a
passable attempt at dancing! Still, he let himself be led out onto the crowed floor; when he
thought he’d do anything for Sai he meant it.
It remained hard to stand, hard to breathe even, especially when Sai slid his lithe frame
right up against his, nudging him gently in all the right places to get them ready to dance. His
hands were planted firmly on Sai’s waist where the English boy had put them, and Ryo
certainly didn’t have any intention of moving them from their spot. Sai, however, already
had one of his legs between Ryo’s, with one hand on the boy’s hips and the other right
at the back or Ryo’s neck, covered by a waterfall of black hair. The red haired boy
smiled at him one last time, then began to sway his hips in a way that left Ryo no choice but
to follow his lead.}
Slowly now we begin to move
{With Sai’s hips and body rocking against his so intimately, Ryo nearly collapsed into a
small pile on the floor. When the crush of people pressed their already impossibly close
bodies nearer, he nearly died. His heart had finally stopped it’s fitful thudding, but
unfortunately it seemed it was because it had stopped beating completely. The flow of
people swept them up and ushered them straight into the center of the overcrowded floor,
but as far as Ryo was concerned, Sai was the only other person in existence. People
bumped into his back and sides completely unheeded. All his blue eyes could see was the
pair of green ones right in front of him. The redhead’s hair was plastered to his forehead
already with a thin curtain of sweat, his sea-foam eyes sparkling in the low lights of the
dance floor. Gradually, the tempo began to increase, and so did their movement, not that
Ryo minded one bit! Sai just grabbed him and held him closer, laughing and dancing under
the lights, completely o
blivious to the fact that Ryo was near seconds from collapsing from sheer delight.}
With every breath I’m deeper into you
{The soft scent of ocean air and spring rain flooded his sensitive nose as Sai pressed one
heat flushed cheek against Ryo’s. He could have sworn he heard that sweet English voice
whisper ‘wonderful’ into his ear, but again the music stole the words away before he got
a chance to hear them. That enticingly muscled body continued to slide up against his, thin
layers of sweat dampened T-shirts the only barrier between beautifully contrasted dark and
pale skin. Sai playfully untucked Ryo’s shirt for no reason other than that he could,
running warm, slender fingers over the other boy’s terribly sensitive stomach.
Though it was meant to tickle, the brushing of skin against skin sent white hot pangs of
ache and something else from the point of contact straight down his body to settle half
painfully, half pleasantly right between Ryo’s legs. Whatever the red haired boy had
meant the touch to feel like, Ryo was certain it wasn’t that! But as he leveled Sai with a
half startled, half confused look, Sai stunned him with a coy, flirtatious look that stole the
Wildfire’s breath straight from his throat. He couldn’t have peeled himself away from
Torrent then if his life depended on it. The other boy had him completely spellbound. Ryo
would have likely have pulled his heart out of his chest and handed it to him if Sai
demanded it. After all, he had certainly done it every way but physically.}
Soon we two are standing still in time
{The passing of time seemed to have completely stilled as Sai continued his slow grind
against the darker boy’s hips. Though time was perfectly measured out in beats and
punctuated by percussion, it seemed that some deity had blessed him enough to keep him
living the same three second time loop over and over again. The newly started strobe
lighting made his vision skip and jump like an old movie reel, but every time he got a clear
look at the vision before him, Sai looked completely the same. His red hair spilled down
over his shoulders as he tilted his head back on that slender column of a throat, eyes closed
in pure rapture, body moving with an obscene grace that told of many previous excursions
much like this one. He was certainly an experienced dancer.
Ryo wondered how he managed to keep up, but he was obviously doing something right
because Sai didn’t pause once to correct him. The slender boy merely tipped his head
back and tossed his head from side to side with the beat, completely unaware of the
pronounced ache that stirred in Ryo’s very sense of being every time the choppy light
outlined that perfect profile for him. Absently, the dark haired boy thought that it was
inhuman for one creature to possess that much beauty. But Sai had certainly broken the
highest standard of splendor when the Gods created him, Ryo mused. His fondness for the
red haired warrior was nothing less than an obsession, but it was an obsession he
treasured.}
If you read my mind
You’ll see I’m crazy for you
{Love. The word had flitted across his thoughts once or twice before, but taking one more
look at the dancing boy before him it firmly embedded itself right in the center of Ryo’s
brain. He certainly believed in love at first sight, but with Sai it was love at first, fiftieth,
hundredth, and millionth sight. It was love every time those green eyes met his, every time
that pale skin flashed, every time that red hair tickled across his nose, face, or throat. There
was no doubt in his mind that if the situation ever did arise, his life would be a small
sacrifice for Sai’s continued existence. Everything he ever had, ever would have, he’d
give to Sai in a heartbeat, no hesitation or questions asked. Of course, he would for any of
his friends. They had all been together and through too much for him not to, but the thought
of Torrent in any kind of need crystallized the thought completely. Just like in everything
else, Sai stood front and center in all of his thoughts.
He truly wondered if he could pay attention to anything else; the red haired boy so
completely captivated his concentration that it seemed unlikely. As long as Sai demanded
the slightest bit of his attention, it would all be on him. He was crazy, the small remaining
part of his rational mind shouted. Crazy for jumping into these heated emotions headfirst,
and so soon. Crazy because Sai just might find out. Crazy because it was never going to
work. But as the red haired boy laughed out his delight, chest warmly vibrating against Ryo
and green eyes shining with undiluted happiness, he was perfectly content to be out of his
mind.}
Touch me once and you know it’s true
I’ve never wanted anyone like this
It’s all brand new
{Again the beat changed, seemingly without any time passing at all. Instead of the furious
fast pace it had been, it melted into something more intense, harder, just as fierce but not as
mindless. Sai’s movement slowed too, but instead of taking the break that Ryo’s
thoroughly addled and confused brain begged for, he changed the grind of his hips to the
heavy pounding of the new song. As if their movements weren’t obscene enough before,
they became downright pornographic. The red haired boy slid himself up and down Ryo’s
torso, and Ryo, not knowing how else to react, obliged his partner in any way he could.
Torrent seemed intent in putting them into every possible position that was not suitable for
public, bending and twisting himself around, pulling Ryo into all manner of comfortable and
not so comfortable positions against him. Wildfire only hoped that the heat on the dance
floor would make an acceptable excuse for the fierce blush that his cheeks had taken on.
Thankfully, it seemed to be something the other boy didn’t even notice.
Sai’s usual sea breeze scent was tinged slightly with sweat, and not entirely unpleasant.
The other boy pressed his chest up against Ryo’s so close that it barely left them room to
breathe, then turned around and arched his back against him the same way, resting his
head in the bend of Ryo’s neck and gazing seductively into those tiger blue eyes.
Immediately, the last vestiges of conscious thought fled his mind, and he ran tentative hands
over Sai’s stomach, imitating some of the other couples he caught out of the corner of his
eye. Instead of the revulsion that Ryo half expected, Sai welcomed the touch, rubbing
himself into those dark hands like an affection starved kitten. Throwing all remaining
caution, which wasn’t much, to the wind and embracing the moment, Ryo took Sai by the
shoulders as he turned around to face him again, and planted a warm kiss on Sai’s soft,
undefended lips.}
You’ll feel it in my kiss
You’ll feel it in my kiss because
I’m crazy for you...
Crazy for you...
{Honestly, he expected Sai to slap him. At the very least, he thought Sai would push him
away and stalk off. What he did not expect, however, was for the red haired boy to slide
one hand up his already loosened shirt and pull him into the embrace as Ryo tried to shy
away from the kiss he had stolen. That slender, pale hand pressed against his sweat
dampened back, locking his entire body into place as Sai’s tongue made a daring slip
between his teeth. He tasted even better than Ryo had imagined, like clean, fresh spring
water mixed with an indescribable sweetness. Pulling back quickly he shook himself,
expecting to wake up and find that he had fallen asleep at the bar and was dreaming again.
Beyond belief, he stayed firmly rooted right where he was, in Sai’s trimly muscled arms.
One soft touch of Sai’s fingers to his cheek brought reality spinning back to him, leaving
him breathless and wide eyed from the kiss.
Blessing him with another one of those generous smiles, Torrent patiently took his hand and
led him off through the crowd, to the relative privacy of one of the many dark corners the
club boasted. Ryo opened his mouth, preparing to stammer out a million different excuses,
a million different apologies, but Sai merely took it as an invitation to press his mouth
against Ryo’s again. That persistence completely melted away anything but the sweet
passion of the kiss, and Ryo tossed himself into it with the abandon of a man at his last
meal. The red head merely laughed, not at the darker boy, but at the adorable
flabbergasted expression on his face as Torrent pulled back, admiring his handiwork.}
It’s all brand new
You know it’s true,
I’m crazy for you
I’m crazy, crazy for you...
{"S-Sai," he stammered, not quite knowing how to react still. All of those unfamiliar
feelings leapt up inside him again, turning his stomach, mind, and world upside-down in that
order. The redhead merely smiled at him again, those calming green eyes finally settling the
other boy’s nearly shot nerves. Ryo just gave him the most sheepish smile humanly
possible, tucking his head down as another fierce blush crept across his cheeks. Maybe if
he stared at the ground hard enough, Sai just wouldn’t notice.
"Yes?" Sai practically crooned, taking obvious delight in the dark haired boy’s sudden
bashfulness. He allowed himself to run one hand through that unruly mess of onyx black
hair, smoothing out a few tangles and pushing wayward locks back behind Ryo’s ears.
Softly scratching the scalp behind them made Ryo push himself up into his hands, making
Wildfire purr slightly. Immediately, the words that Ryo had almost grasped deserted him at
Sai’s touch, and he contented himself just to enjoy it. However, Torrent pulled away after
only a few short minutes of bliss, eyeing Ryo with an almost critical look. Inwardly wincing,
the blue eyed boy finally prepared for the tongue-lashing he had been expecting.
"You know, it took you long enough to do that," the red haired boy criticized, lips forming
into a slight pout. "I was beginning to think that you didn’t like me." Ryo literally did a
double take. That was all that Sai had to say? He should have kissed him sooner? Torn
between flinging himself around Torrent in a joyful embrace and slapping him, Ryo merely
contented himself with opening and closing his mouth a few times. Right when he was
certain that he looked like one of Sai’s pet goldfish, two slender white hands placed
themselves on either side of his face, forcing him to stare straight into Sai’s wonderful eyes
again.
"Oh, stop that. Do something useful with your mouth, why don’t you," he demanded,
punctuating the statement with another one of his delicious kisses. Wildfire remained
stunned for a moment, from the unexpected kiss and Sai’s impulsive behavior, but it
didn’t take much coaxing from the other boy’s skilled tongue to get him to return the
embrace fully. Sai held onto him that time, not at all willing to let him go in the slightest,
which was good, because Ryo feared if the other boy did lessen his grip, he’d melt into a
small puddle on the floor. He didn’t have to fear that at all, judging by the grip Sai had on
him, the other boy wasn’t ever planning on letting him go.
A small smile of triumph spread across his lips and against Sai’s, as Ryo defiantly taunted
the logical part of his brain. See, I’m not as crazy as I thought I am! But right then, Sai
chose to break off the kiss in favor of more dancing, pulling Ryo’s already tired body out
onto the dance floor yet again. He almost dug his heels in and resisted, but one look into
those sparkling green eyes totally melted any self-assertion he had left. Then again, he
thought as he was being lead across the floor like Torrent’s pet, Maybe I am just plain
crazy.}
