(Are you) Alone ? by Shadow Fax Chapter 1 ______________________________________________________________________________ W-what?? What is this?! Where am I? How did I get here? A blond boy asked and squirmed around, to find his hands were tied behind his back with chains and bolted to the floor. Wha... nnh... Why am I tied up? He asked starting to panic, he fought against the restraints, the more he pulled the larger the gash’d be on his wrist. Calm down, Sage... Sage looked up. Who’s there?? No need to be afraid, Sage dear... I won’t hurt you... too bad anyway... the person said, Sage classified them as a girl, the voice was kind of feminine... What do you want with me? Sage asked. Well, as soon as I turn you... you will be one of us... What do you mean ‘one of you’... what are you? Sage asked, squinting trying to find the one talking to him. Oh Sage... Sage felt breath on his neck and turned to the person. Was female, long dark hair, bright blue eyes, face was ghostly white, she had a pale pink lipstick on and long k-9 teeth... resembling a dog of some sort. Wah! Sage jumped and scrambled backward into the wall. She smiled and walked towards him. Don’t be afraid Sage... She whispered, I said I wouldn’t hurt you... Hold him... She said as two men, like her came out of the darkness and held Sage against the wall. No! Let me go!! Sage shouted. We will as soon as your changed... Sage eyed her cautiously. What are you, why do you keep saying you’ll... turn me... Sage asked. We? Why, we’re vampires dear... soon, so shall you. Hold him tight... he looks quite strong... She ordered the two, they nodded and tightened their grip on Sage. Sage grunted. She smiled triumphantly. Welcome to the family Sage... She whispered and licked his throat. Sage tried to jerk away, but the man on the left slammed his head into the wall hard enough to make his vision swim, the man held his head like that. The girl grinned and bit down on Sage’s neck. Aaahh!! Sage cried in pain as she drank from him. nnnnh.... g-got to stay... awake.... Sage whispered... it didn’t happen Sage fell lifeless. He heard snickering. Then some incoherent words then loud cackling. "Sage!!! Wake up!!!" Ryo shouted and shook Sage’s shoulders. "Wha!?" Sage opened his eyes. Breathing heavily and all sweaty. "What?? R-Ryo?" Sage asked. Ryo nodded. "Sage, what happened?" Sage looked past Ryo and Mia stood behind him. "I--I... it was a bad dream..." Sage mumbled and sat up. "All-a ya are in here huh? How embarrassing..." Sage grumbled. Cye sighed and sat down on Sage’s bed next to him. "Some thing was really wrong Sage... what happened??" Cye asked. "Yeah, man... You gave us quite a scare." Kento said yawning and rubbing his eyes. "Like you care Kento..." Sage mumbled. "Well I got up didn’t I? I coulda jus’ stayed in bed ya know..." Kento said. "heh, yeah... whatever..." Sage said. "Sage c’mon... what happened??" Ryo asked. "I--... it was nothing... like I said... a bad dream..." Sage said, "Go away and leave me alone..." Sage said and pulled his blankets over his head. The others sighed and left, ‘cept Rowen, he stayed. "What are you still doing here?" Sage asked, still under his sheets. "Sage, your my best friend, I can’t just leave you like this." Rowen said and pulled up a chair next to Sage’s bed. "What happened in this dream of yours?" Rowen asked. "It was horrible..." Sage whispered. "Like how?" Rowen asked. "I- don’t really know... it was..."Sage pulled off the covers, "I don’t know how to explain, Rowen... something that I never thought about ‘till now existed..." Sage said looked at Rowen. Rowen furrowed his eyebrows. "And, what might that be??" Rowen asked. Sage felt stupid saying it... but he had to tell someone, and that someone was Rowen. "vampires..." Sage mumbled. "Vampires??" Rowen asked. Sage nodded. "And what happened?" Rowen asked. "At first it was dark, little light circled me... couldn’t see anything... my arms tied behind me with chains... bolted in the ground... I heard someone talk, i was panicking... she said to calm down... she knew my name... i asked who was there... she said not to worry... she wouldn’t hurt me, too much..." Sage shuddered. "Her voice was awful... horrible and bone-chilling.... I didn’t get what she meant by turning me... she said I’d become one of them... I didn’t get it. I asked what ‘they’ were... she said nothing..." Sage wrapped his arms around himself, "I couldn’t see her... then she whispered ‘oh Sage’ I felt her breath on my neck... I looked at her finally and she ghostly white, bright blue eyes... black hair... like Ryo’s.. sh-she had long k-9 teeth, like a dog... or like WhiteBlaze’s better comparison... well anyway... she came up to me, she said that wouldn’t hurt me again... she ordered two others, guys, to hold me. I told them to let go... no avail... she smi led at me she said she’d let me go as soon as I was changed... i asked why she kept saying that... she finally said that they were vampires and I was going to be one too... she told the two men to hold me tight... I looked like a strong one... they did... they had a good grip... sh-sh-she, licked my throat... I-I tried to get away the man on the left slammed my head into the wall and my vision swam... then she bit me... it was unbearable... blood... lots of it... down my neck and onto my clothes... staining them, it hurt... i cried in pain... then she was done... I struggled to stay conscious.... I heard snickering then mumbling then loud cackling... then I was woken up by Ryo...." Sage said shivering. Sage let himself go and put his face in his hands. "Sage are you okay...?" Rowen asked. Sage nodded putting his hands on his forehead. "Y-yeah.. I’ll be fine... I hope this dream doesn’t mean anything..." Sage said. "It’s only a bad dream Sage... You and I are gonna stop watching them movies that Mia’s got in her basement from now on..." Rowen said and chuckled. Sage laughed a little. "Okay Ro..." Sage agreed. **Two Weeks Later** Sage and Rowen were outside practicing. Sage, trying to work Rowen’s bow and Rowen trying to hold the sword right. They looked at each other. And gave there weapons back to each other. "I don’t see how you can hold that.." Rowen said, eyeing the sword. "It’s easy..." Sage said. "All you do is hold the handle and your other hand here.." Sage said and held the sword up. "Well, I can hold it... just.. I’m not used to it like you.. It’s heavy too..." Rowen said. "Well... I can’t hold the bow right.. I’d shoot myself in the foot even if there was a dummy 2 feet away from me." Sage said. Rowen laughed. "Hey!! Guys!! Tim ta eat!!" Ryo shouted. "Okay!!" Sage called back. "C’mon... I’ll race you..." Sage said. "kay.." Rowen got in a running position, "Ready... Set............ GO!" Rowen said and took off Sage right along side him. "rrrah!! Haha!! I won!!" Rowen shouted as he jumped into the door. Sage grinned. "Okay okay... your faster then I am at running but how ‘bout fencing?" Sage asked. "Hmmm... dunno.." Rowen said. "Enough... time ta eat..." Kento said. Sage and Rowen laughed. Kento and the others not getting what they were laughing at shrugged and started to eat. "Hmm... Me and Sage are going to Toyama after. Anyone else wanna come?" Rowen asked. "Me and Sage, Rowen? You of all people to use the wrong vocabulary." Mia said jokingly. Rowen gave a lopsided smile. "Sage and I.... are going to the city after, anyone else want to come?" Rowen asked. "Nope. Got lotta stuff to do..." Kento said between mouthfuls. "Like cleaning your side of the room." Cye said, "Well I’m gonna stay home with Kento." Rowen looked at Ryo. "hmm, I s’pose I’ll go." Ryo said and smiled. "I’m going to work on my garden." Mia said. " ‘Kay." Rowen said and got up taking his plate and cleared into WhiteBlaze’s bowl. "Here ya go buddy." Whiteblaze growled and munched out. "I’ll be outside.. tell me when you guys are done." Rowen said and walked outside. **Few Minuets Later** "Kay Ro! We’re ready!" Sage said. No answer. "Ro??" Sage asked. "You go that way and I’ll go this way." Ryo said and walked around the other side of the house. Sage nodded and walked around the other side. "Hey Ro! Where’d you go?" Sage asked and turned the corner. Sage saw Rowen trying his best at using a sword. Sage smiled. Rowen was in deep concentration. He didn’t hear neither Ryo nor Sage calling. Sage walked up behind Rowen. Rowen held the sword a little after the hilt. Sage smiled again and his footing was off. Sage put his hand over Rowen’s and slid his hand up the hilt more. Rowen looked behind him. "Sage I--" Rowen started. "Shh... try again." Sage said. Rowen nodded... Sage shook his head and walked up behind Rowen he moved Rowen’s feet farther apart and his right foot back a ways. Sage slowly moved Rowen along step by step. "Over... down... left... cut...over... down... right...cut..." Sage whispered. They did that one thing over again. "Okay Ro, now, try by yourself." Sage said. Rowen nodded. He tried, paused once but he did it by himself. "Heyy!! I thought we were going to Toyama!?" Ryo shouted. "Heh, okay Ryo, we’re comin’, just hold on..." Sage said. Ryo nodded and walked off toward the Jeep. "You did good Ro-chan.." Sage said and grinned. Rowen punched him lightly. "Let’s just go..." Rowen said. Sage ruffled up Rowen’s hair and took off toward the Jeep. "Hey!! I get front seat!!" Rowen shouted. "Not if I get there first!!" Sage said. "Bah!" Rowen scoffed and took off after Sage. But little to their knowing, they were being watched. Mostly Rowen and Ryo. "You are right brother, they three are full of life, what of the other three in the house?" a girl asked. "I do not know yet, while you fallow those three I’ll see what I can do about the three in the house..." a man said. "Right.." the girl agreed and disappeared giggling.
